Sofia Batalha
External CollaboratorI am an independent researcher, an eco-mythologist, writer, and facilitator, with extensive experience in applied mythology, decolonial pedagogies, eco-psychology, and symbolic ecology. My interdisciplinary practice draws from over 20 years of applied work and continuous training, weaving together ecological, mythological, and embodied approaches to collective repair, grief work, and ecological belonging.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from IADE, Lisbon (1999), complemented by Postgraduate studies in Communication and Image (IADE, 2001) and Museology and Heritage (Universidade Lusíada, 2000). My advanced specialization includes certifications in Applied Mythology, Ecopsychology, Indigenous and Liberation Psychologies (Pacifica University, USA), as well as training in Deep Education and Facing Human Wrongs (Gesturing Towards Decolonial Futures, 2022). Additionally, I am trained in Transpersonal Psychology, Ecofeminism, and Meta-Relational Pedagogies.
I have integrated in advanced programs with Schumacher College, and multiple research collectives that explore the intersections of ecology, decoloniality, grief, and symbolic narrative.
My current work contributes to the growing field of decolonial eco-mythology, relational pedagogies, ecofeminism, and meta-relational ecopsychology, engaging with ongoing global conversations on grief literacy, multi-species responsibility, and relational repair in the context of modern/colonial severance.
