I received a Ph.D. in Logic and Philosophy of Science from the University of Salamanca in 2022 and I am currently leading Tagis - Portuguese Butterfly Conservation Centre. I am an integrated member of CE3C since May of 2026 being part of the Biodiversity Monitoring & Citizen Science (BiMoCS) research group. As an entomologist my research focuses on insect conservation and monitoring; disseminination and raising awareness among different publics and stakeholders about the importance of insects; citizen sience. I am the coordinator, since 2019, of the Portuguese Butterfly Monitoring Scheme (PT-BMS), a citizen science project integrated into the pan-European BMS. In 2024 and 2025 I did my post doc at the University of Coimbra where I was part of the team that elaborate the Action Plan for the Conservation and Sustainability of Pollinators in Portugal, and the proposal for the Portuguese Pollinator Monitoring Scheme (PT-PoMS) according to the Nature Restauration Regulation.
