Patrícia Garcia Pereira

I received a Ph.D in Biology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2003 and I am currently working in the Biodiversity Monitoring and Citizen Science group of CE3C. My research is based on Conservation Biology, with special emphasis on Entomology, which led me to develop projects in diverse areas, including Ecology, Science Communication, Citizen Science or History of Science. I have worked for many years with entomological collections and in several faunistic, ecological and monitoring studies with insects, as well as projects and activities to promote biodiversity awareness, as the Insects in Order’ exhibition and the Biodiversity Stations Network. I was the coordinator of the insect’s assessment to publish the first Red List of Invertebrates of mainland Portugal. I am currently involved in national and European networks regarding pollinators conservation and preparing the Portuguese Monitoring Plan for Pollinators.
