Silvana Munzi
ResearcherI received a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from the University of Siena, Italy, in 2010 and I am currently working in the Plant-Soil Ecology group. I am an Assistant Researcher at the University of Lisbon. My research focuses on eco-physiological and molecular mechanisms of stress tolerance in symbiotic systems (lichens), emphasizing nitrogen impact, pollution biomonitoring, and environmental stress responses in forest and urban ecosystems.I have extensive expertise in project management and writing, as well as in science communication and citizen science. My current research focuses on soil monitoring through citizen science, lichenometry, and the assessment of combined climate and pollution effects on forests. I am a Member of the Board of the International Association for Lichenology (IAL) and serve as Communication Committee Coordinator for the IAL, the Italian Lichen Society, and the CLEANFOREST COST Action.
