Pierina Mendoza Yengle is conducting a Ph.D. in Biology and Ecology of Glogal Changes by the University of Lisbon starting in 2024 within the Ecophysiology of Small Mammals Group of CE3C. She is conducting the project An integrative physiological approach to assess climate-related body size variation in small mammals, under the supervision of Rita Monarca (CE3C), Paula Alexandra Lopes (FMV) and Prof. Maria da Luz Mathias. project aims are: The main objective of this project is to assess how rising temperatures and their interaction with dietary fat content affect individual health and ecological fitness in wood mice (Apodemus sylvaticus), used here as a small mammal model.
