Diana Mortinho is conducting a PhD in Biology at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, starting in 2025, within the Genomics and Evolutionary Ecology of Microorganisms group of CE3C and INIAV (Instituto Nacional de Investigação Agrária e Veterinária). She is conducting the project "PathoPlasmid — Next-Generation Plasmid Surveillance to Strengthen Outbreak Preparedness in Foodborne Pathogens", under the supervision of Franciso Dionísio (CE3C) and Teresa Nogueira (INIAV, CE3C). Diana's PhD project aims to understand the role of plasmids in mediating the spread of antibiotic resistance and virulence genes between foodborne pathogens.
