Daniel Silva is conducting a Ph.D. in Biology at the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa starting in 2024 within the Genomics and Evolutionary Ecology of Microorganisms group of CE3C and INIAV (Instituto Nacional de Investigação Agrária e Veterinária). He is conducting the project "Plasmid interactions and the spread of antibiotic resistance genes", under the supervision of Franciso Dionísio (CE3C) and Teresa Nogueira (INIAV, CE3C). Daniel's PhD project aims to understand the cause of the excellent donor ability of some plasmids, as well as its role in the spread of antibiotic resistance genes.
