André Zani is conducting a Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology by the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul starting in 2025 within the EGB - Evolutionary Genomics and Bioinformatics. He is conducting the project Tracing the Origins of Melanism in Jaguars (Panthera onca), under the supervision of Prof. Vitor C. Sousa (University of Lisbon), Prof. Nelson J. R. Fagundes (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul) and Prof. Eduardo Eizirik (Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul).
