Leonor Lopes Paulo holds a bachelor's degree in Biology and is currently a master’s student in Applied Microbiology at CIÊNCIAS developing the dissertation within the project “The Hidden Players: Investigating the Role of the Gut Mycobiome in Driving Antimicrobial Resistance in Commensal Bacteria”, under the supervision of Mónica V. Cunha at the Pathogen Biology & Global Health research group of CE3C. The main objective of this master's dissertation is to explore the impact of antibiotic-producing commensal fungi in the selection of antimicrobial resistant bacteria within the gut microbiome, using cattle as a model system.
