- Genotype to Phenotype of the Immune Response
Tânia Paulo
ResearcherMy research centers on the evolution of host–pathogen interactions, integrating genetics, physiology, and experimental evolution to uncover how organisms respond and adapt to microbial challenge. During my postdoctoral work at Boston Children’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School), I explored these topics using a Drosophila - V. cholerae model of intestinal infection to address how bacterial metabolism shapes interactions with host immune responses. Looking ahead, my work aims to bridge evolutionary and ecological perspectives on host–microbe interactions, deepening our understanding of how these relationships are shaped across scales - from molecular mechanisms to organismal fitness in changing environments
