									Joana Neto
PhD StudentJoana Neto is conducting a PhD in Sustainable Land Use, specialty: Agricultural Science and Engineering by the University of Lisbon – Instituto Superior de Agronomia, starting in 2023 within the Environmental Quality and Human Health (HuEL). She is conducting the project “Defining and enhancing greenhouses’ functional biodiversity to promote agroecological control strategies against Phthorimaea absoluta (Lepidoptera)”, under the supervision of Elisabete Figueiredo - LEAF-Linking Landscape, Environment, Agriculture and Food, Laboratório Associado TERRA, Instituto Superior de Agronomia, University of Lisbon; Ana Marques Aguiar - GreenUPorto – Sustainable Agrifood Production Research Centre/Inov4Agro, Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto; and Maria Teresa Rebelo – CE3C, Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes, University of Lisbon. Joana Neto’s project aims are: studying the potential of conservation biological control as an alternative method to control tomato key pest P. absoluta, by assessing the possibility to enhance the pest's natural enemies action through the implementation of an ecological infrastructure with a specific configuration of flowering plants around the greenhouse.
