Gustavo Marino conducted his MSc in Conservation Biology at the University of Évora. His master’s thesis focused on the breeding ecology of the White-tailed Tropicbird (Phaethon lepturus) on the island of São Tomé, including a threat assessment. The study was carried out under the supervision of Ricardo F. de Lima (CE3C, FCUL) and Pedro Pereira (MED, Labor). He is currently assisting in a conservation project led by Pilsen Zoo (Czech Republic) targeting the Dwarf Ibis (Bostrychia bocagei). This project aims to improve understanding of the population dynamics and life cycle of this critically endangered endemic species.
