External CollaboratorI am a staff scientist at the Research Center One Health Ruhr (RCOH), University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) at the Environmental Metagenomics group, led by Prof. Dr. Alexander Probst. I am a microbiologist who focuses on deploying -omics technologies, namely metagenomics, to uncover the roles of prokaryotes, viruses and microeukaryotes across a wide range of global ecosystems, including rivers, caves and aquifers. I received my PhD from Aberystwyth University (Wales, UK) in 2019, where I investigated coalfield groundwater microbial communities and their potential roles in iron and sulfur cycling using 16S rRNA gene amplicons, genome-resolved metagenomics and hydrochemistry, and leveraged using multivaried statistics.
