
Cristina Luís
Researcher/CommunicatorI hold a Ph.D. in Biology (Conservation Biology) from the University of Lisbon (2006) and currently lead the communication office of CHANGE, while also working within the Conservation Ecology and Society group of CE3C. I coordinate the Portuguese team of the EU-funded project More4Nature and lead the FCT-funded project WISE – Women In Science Explorations. As an invited professor at the University of Lisbon and FCT-NOVA, I teach Science Communication and Public Engagement. My research focuses on science communication, citizen science, public engagement, history of science, biodiversity conservation and horse domestication.
Previously, I worked for ten years at the National Museum of Natural History and Science (MUHNAC), developing science outreach programs, exhibitions and events like the European Researchers’ Night. I actively participate in national and international networks, including SciComPt, the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA), and serve as president of the Portuguese Citizen Science Network (RPCC.pt).
