Alejandra Zarzo Arias
ResearcherI received a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of Oviedo in 2020 focused on brown bear ecology and conservation, and I am currently working as "La Caixa" Junior Leader Postdoc in the Conservation Ecology & Society group at CE3C. My research focuses on testing, improving and applying Species Distribution Models (SDMs) to many species at different spatial scales. For many years I have been involved in terrestrial ecology research using carnivores as model system, with a special focus on conservation and coexistence. I have previously worked as a postdoc in CZU Prague, the National Museum of Natural Sciences (CSIC) Madrid, and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. My current project explores the effect on species’ distributions of predator-prey interactions to promote conservation and coexistence in human-dominated landscapes.
