Raimundo José Raimundo
PhD StudentRaimundo José Raimundo is conducting a Ph.D. in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution at the University of Lisbon, starting in 2026, within the Behavioural Ecology and Conservation (BEC) research group at CE3C. His Ph.D. project focuses on the biogeography of cryptic birds in Mozambique and the impacts of climate and land-use change, using an integrated approach combining environmental DNA (eDNA), acoustic analyses, GIS and ecological modelling, under the supervision of Professor Teresa Catry (CE3C). The general objective of this project is to evaluate biogeographic, functional and spatial patterns of bird communities along altitudinal gradients in Mozambique, integrating climatic factors, habitat structure and land-use change in order to assess community vulnerability and inform conservation strategies under environmental change.
