Understanding the mechanisms underlying disease is essential to identify its causes, predict its progression, and develop effective therapeutic strategies. In this seminar, we will present the main research lines of our group, which aims to dissect the molecular and cellular processes associated with disease and explore innovative approaches to counteract pathological outcomes.
Our research is organized around three complementary topics. We investigate how the extracellular matrix modulates cancer development, focusing on its impact on tumor behavior and disease progression. We also address how environmental pollution can influence cancer-related processes and contribute to disease susceptibility. Finally, we develop gene-based approaches to counter or correct disease pathology, exploring new therapeutic possibilities.
Together, these topics integrate mechanistic biology, environmental health, and therapeutic innovation, advancing our understanding of disease and contributing to the One Health concept.
